Great Article: Winning Considerations for Interactive Content

August 6th, 2008 · No Comments

I am recently working on a project where the team had proposed that the site should use a lot of interactivity to boost engagement.  While I agree to a great extent, I am also an advocate for simplistic design where a person can scroll through the page and look at content with minimum effort.

There is a new article on UX Matters that speaks directly about this issue.  The article, Winning Considerations for Interactive Content, mentioned a couple things we as Interaction Designers should consider before proposing too much interactivity for reading content.  The article listed out some great points such as the ability to link to content disappears when they are on layers that doesn’t have a unique URL.  In addition, printing is another problem which we tend to forget.

Anyway, very thought provoking.
